Interested in working in retail, but not sure what skills you need?

Try our "Retailing in the BOP" programme.

We have partnered with retailers throughout the Bay of Plenty to give you a comprehensive understanding of retail.

You will learn about the work ethics required for success in retail, health and safety, pricing and merchandising, diversity, workplace communication, team dynamics and team-work, sales techniques, stock management, loss-prevention and store security, mathematics skills (calculating percentages, reading tables and graphs) as well as career planning.

This programme is a mix of theory training, with NZQA units of learning towards the National Certificate in Retailing (level 2), and work based training.

Training is offered in Tauranga, Fraser Cove, Papamoa, Kawerau, Whakatane, Rotorua, Taupo and Tokoroa, with graduates going into a variety of positions. 

Entry is open, with learners who meet TEC criteria receiving FREE training.
