It
seems that everywhere you turn around people have excuses for failure.
When it comes to looking for work the excuses for
inaction are legendary (and I have heard every one of the following
excuses in one form or another): "There are no jobs out there".
"The economy is still too slow for job creation" "Employers don't
get back to me when I apply for a job with them" "I don't have the
skills or experiences they are looking for" "I am too short"
"My hair is too red" "I have too many family commitments" "I don't have
transport" "I won't do that sort of work" "I have a criminal record"
"I don't have any experience" "I have too much experience".
Everybody can come
up with an excuse for not progressing in life. The
reality is though, we are all responsible for our attitude towards life
and the hard times we must all endure.
The successes in life are the ones who
get stuck in. They decide what they want to happen, what price
they are willing to pay for that objective, the resources they have
available to them, and then they go about making things happen.
They look at life's setbacks as just that - a setback, not a roadblock.
And they persist - they keep trying, reviewing what they are doing and
refining it and trying again until they succeed.
You can tell the people who are
succeeding in the life they have chosen to live. They are the ones
who are optimistic, happy and enthusiastic. They surround
themselves with other people who are optimistic, happy and enthusiastic.
They are self-motivated, self-disciplined and celebrate their successes
and the successes of others.
Sound like you? Or the life you
want to lead? It's easy... all you have to do is take the first
step. And then the next...
