A letter from Deyn...

Folded Corner: I started with EmployNZ on the 25 June 2007. I had left college, had little experience of using the computer, and was not sure about what I really wanted to do.
I have formed positive friendships with my peers and tutor, the learning environment at EmployNZ is friendly, welcoming, encouraging, supportive and humorous.
I am really grateful for the support, encouragement, skills and knowledge that I have received through EmployNZ. These have included one-to-one tutoring, and supporting me with the fantastic opportunity of gaining a Civil Engineering Apprenticeship.
I set the following goals when I started:
To achieve my National Certificate in Computing level 2
To get my restricted licence
To get a car
To gain my NCEA level 2
to be assisted with a career option as an apprentice in building and ocnstuction.
I am proud ofmyself for achieving all my goals and for being the receipient of the adult learners award. My tutors and family are also very proud of me.
While I am sad to be leaving EmployNZ, Iknow that being here has made a positive and significant difference inmy life and I will move forward because I have gained confidence, knowledge and many wonderful skills.
With Robyns support I gained work at Fletcher Construction and in January 2008 was signed on in an apprenticeship. I love my job, my study and my future is looking great.
Deyn Palmer.
