In April 2011 Jimmy arrived for an interview to take up training on the Retail Course. He was new to town, had young children and was unable to gain employment. Jimmy was highly motivated to gain a placement on the course to enable him to get NCEA units and up skill through work experience. During his time on the programme he was offered a ‘casual’ contact at the Warehouse Ltd.This led to work as a Team member on the Nightfill Team. And after 3 months a 3 day permanent Nightfill Position was advertised and Jimmy was successful in obtaining the position. It didn’t stop there, his employment roster was increased to five nights and in February 2012 he started coaching and training new team members and was given Saturday as the Nightfill Supervisor. In October 2012 he applied for a day job in another department and has been recognised by the manager as a team member that has a lot of knowledge, energy, drive and potential that the company is looking for in future Team Leaders. Jimmy now has the opportunity to apply for the ‘Fast Track’ Management program.
